Cross Section

A cross section is understood as the connection of two tunnel tubes and holds technically sensitive equipment. It furthermore is also used as escape route for evacuating road users in case of fire. The cooling of the equipment as well as the prevention of smoke ingress is achieved by a continuous overpressure, which is generated by industrial fans and brought in via ventilation dampers. Due to security reasons these systems work independently from the normal ventilation.
