In case of a tube crack, a cannula-system within the double tubes directs the leakage fluid to a measuring point and following out of the heat exchanger. This prevents the blending of media and at the same time triggers a warning via a signal transmitter. The heat exchanger then remains in operative condition for a short time in order to initiate repair measures and therefore avert a production stop.
