The combination of the benefit of plate and Shell and tube heat exchangers in a cylindrical casing allows for heat exchange surfaces of up to 1500 m2 and transmission performances of up to 100 MW. The limits of use go from a vacuum to pressures of 400 bar resp. temperatures of -200°C to 500°C.
